About this site

Why we built it

Losing your job is hard enough. On top of that, you suddenly have a hundred questions: how much will I get, how is it taxed, what should I sign, what do I live on next month. The answers exist, but they're spread across many official websites and written in language that isn't always easy to follow.

We built this site to fix that: one place with the answers people actually look for, explained in simple words, with a calculator that shows your numbers straight away.

Where the information comes from

Everything here is based on Ireland's official sources: Citizens Information, Revenue, gov.ie and MyWelfare. We don't invent figures: we take the official rules and explain them.

Rates and limits usually change each January, so we review the site when new figures come out.

What this site is (and isn't)

  • It's free. No sign-up, no account, nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere.
  • It's independent. We are not part of the Irish Government or any state body.
  • It's a guide, not advice. It helps you understand your situation, but your final figures always depend on your exact circumstances. For big decisions, confirm with Revenue, Citizens Information or a qualified professional.
