The short version
This site shows ads from Google AdSense, which pays for the site. Google and its advertising partners can use cookies and similar identifiers to show and measure those ads. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google asks for your consent first, and you can change your choice at any time with Privacy and cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
We ourselves store one small piece of functional data on your device, and nothing you type into the calculators ever leaves your browser.
What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies and local storage are small pieces of data a website can save in your browser. They can be used for useful things, like remembering your settings, or for advertising and measuring ads. This site has both kinds, and this page says which is which.

It stays on your device, is never sent to us or to anyone else, and contains no personal information. Earlier versions of the site also saved cookie-notice-ok for a notice that no longer exists; it does nothing now and you can clear it.
Advertising by Google
Ads on this site are served by Google AdSense, provided in Europe by Google Ireland Limited. To do that, your browser loads scripts from Google's servers, and Google and its advertising partners may store and read cookies and other identifiers on your device, and use data such as your IP address and device information, to:
- show ads and limit how often you see the same one
- measure whether ads were seen and how they performed
- with your consent, personalise ads to your interests
- detect fraud and keep the service secure

Your choices, and how to change them
If you visit from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a message from Google appears on your first visit, before any advertising cookies are used for purposes that need consent. It lists what the data would be used for and the partners involved. You can choose Consent, Do not consent, or Manage options to decide purpose by purpose and partner by partner.
If you do not consent, you will still see ads. Google's message explains that some partners may still do limited processing on the basis of legitimate interest, which you can object to under Manage options.
Google stores your choice in a cookie on this site called FCCDCF, so the message does not come back on every page. To change or withdraw your choice at any time, use Privacy and cookie settings at the bottom of any page, which opens the same message again.
Visitor statistics: Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, provided in Europe by Google Ireland Limited, to count visits and see which pages people read, so we know which guides are useful and what to improve. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not use it for advertising.
If you visit from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google Analytics sets no cookies unless you choose Consent in Google's message described above. Without consent it only sends Google anonymous, cookieless signals that a page was viewed. With consent it uses the cookies _ga and _ga_HFY74K47YJ to tell new visits from returning ones, kept for up to two years. You can withdraw consent at any time with Privacy and cookie settings at the bottom of any page.

Other third parties
Apart from Google's advertising, consent and analytics scripts, the site loads nothing from anyone else. The font is served from this domain rather than from Google Fonts. There are no embedded videos and no social widgets. If we add anything, this page will be updated first.
How to clear this data
You can delete everything stored for this site from your browser settings, usually under "Privacy", then "Site data" or "Cookies and site data", by searching for redundancytaxireland.ie and removing it. Your checklist ticks will reset and Google's consent message will ask you again. Most browsers also let you block third-party cookies altogether.
